Acoustic College offers four essential types of classes:
• Private Lessons (one student, although parents and/or guests are welcome to observe)
• Buddy Lessons (two students share one lesson, similar curriculum)
• Band Builders classes (two to four students share lesson, same curriculum)
• Jamming 101 groups (ten to thirty students, beginner jamming skills)
Outside of these classes, several other services are offered: Band coaching, artist development and studio production (studio space is available)
Lesson lengths and rates:
- Private classes are 30 minutes long, current rate is $30.
(Private hour lessons are available by special appointment, for $65)
- Buddy Lessons are 30 minutes long, current rate is $20 per student
- Band Builders Classes are 45 minutes long, current rate is $20 per student
(space is very limited for Band Builders classes, we recommend Buddy
Lessons at first)
All lessons offer discounts for group payments (usually $10 off for a block of 4 prepaid), and we accept cash, checks, or credit cards. For pre-approved students there are barter arrangements available, please ask.
For new students, we highly recommend signing up with a friend with similar musical interests for Buddy Lessons. They are $10 less, and you’ll have twice the motivation to make it to class and practice at home with the encouragement of your “Buddy”. Later on, if you feel you need more intensive focus you can shift to Privates, or bring in more friends for Band Builders classes!
Students of all classes are strongly encouraged to participate in Jamming 101 workshops when they occur (usually once every couple months or so). Gaining knowledge of how to play music with others is the single biggest tool for increasing your musical growth (as well as a darn good time!)
